The June meeting of the BMC Midlands Area will be held on Thursday 6 June, starting at 7.30pm, at the Climbing Station bouldering centre in Loughborough.
Note change of date and venue: this meeting was originally scheduled to take place on 30 May in Birmingham.
How to find the Climbing Station
Simmering for a few years now has been the desire by a group of passsionate climbers to persuade owners of large quarries in Leicstershire to leave them in a state suitable for climbing and other recreational pursuits, when they have finished extracting rock. The BMC Midlands Area and other local activiists feel the time is now ripe to create a formal Quarries Group dedicated to championing climbing in quarries in the Midlands, to prove to local authorities, quarry companies and other interested parties that we are serious in our enthusiasm for climbing in Leicestershire. Please support us by attending the meeting.
The meeting will be attended by new BMC staff members:
Neil Hewertson - BMC Quarries Development Manager
Carey Davies - BMC Hill Walking Officer
Rob Greenwood - BMC Regional Development Officer, England East
Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.
And finally, returning by popular request will be our famous mountaineeiring quiz with fantastic BMC prizes.
All are welcome.
