Festival season comes to Northumberland on the weekend of 19-21 July for the North East Climbing & Walking Festival, supported by the BMC. This is an opportunity for local climbers and walkers to welcome newcomers to the outdoors, and to showcase 'the County' to people from further afield.
Festival HQ is the Blue Bell Hotel, Belford, which will offer a warm welcome and undoubtedly some refreshing ales. The pub provides the venue for a talk and pub quiz on Friday, and a BBQ and ceilidh on Saturday night. Rain will not stop play.
The closest campsite is South Meadows Farm, a few minutes' stumble away.

On Saturday, the sandstone crags of Kyloe and Bowden are close by, with walking options in the Cheviot and Simonside Fells. Local guides have kindly offered to run taster sessions for those who have never tried it before, or you can just go self-propelled.
There's nothing to book. Just join us in the pub on Friday.
