BMC Safeguarding and Protecting Children training course, Thursday 28 November at Boulders Climbing Centre, Pengam Road, Cardiff CF24 2RZ
Sometimes called Good Practice in Child Protection, this is an introductory course that gives an overview of safeguarding children within sports, particularly climbing, hill walking and mountaineering. It also makes people aware of what the issues are so that they can work according to good practice.
The course costs £20. Although, it is free for BMC volunteers, and members of BMC affiliated clubs, who support activities involving under 18s - such as Area Youth Coorodinators and those who help with the Junior Teams and at competitions. It is especially helpful for Club Youth Officers and Welfare Officers.

Training will be delivered by Alan Weightman who is an experienced, hill walker, mountain user and climber and accredited by Sports Coach UK to deliver this course.
As this is a licensed Sports Coach UK course, those attending will receive a certificate of attendance that can be used as proof of attendance for thenew coaching award or in other sporting contexts across the country.
