The June meeting of the BMC Midlands Area will be held at the Old Edwardian's Sports Club in Solihull on Wednesday 4 June 2014, starting at 8.00pm, and includes a free lecture by George Cave.
Come along to our quarterly gathering of Midlands climbers and walkers. The evening includes a discussion of local issues, a bar, food and slideshow, so it should be a good night out.
BMC Hill Walking Development Officer Carey Davies will be asked to defend the motion that 'the BMC does not take hill walking seriously enough'. So come and have your say in the debate. This is your chance to influence the future direction of the BMC.
We also want to discuss the progress/direction of the two Midlands climbing guides - West Midlands and Leicestershire Climbs.
George Cave presented a lecture on expedition planning using Google Earth at the 2013 BMC AGM, and it was extremely well received. On this occasion, his talk is entitled ‘Bread, Chess & Mountains’ and will involve ‘Tales from the Bristol Djangart expedition to find unclimbed peaks on the Kyrgyz/Chinese border’

All are welcome. Entry is FREE, food will be provided, and the club has a licensed bar.
Thanks to Solihull Mountaineering Club for hosting the meeting.
