Want to start climbing outdoors? The BMC and Redpoint Climbing Centre have joined forces to offer a new range of subsidised outdoor climbing skills courses to help you make the move outside.
Rock Out is the perfect choice for anyone who already has an interest in climbing indoors – either bouldering or roped climbing – and wants to make that first move outside.
Rock Out aims to cover:
Where to climb in your local area
Using a guidebook
Different rock types
Different climbing styles
Grades (and the subtleties of climbing on real rock)
Basic rope skills
Lots of climbing!
What do I need?
No experience outdoors is required, and all climbing equipment will be provided on the day. You just need to be able to tie in to a harness and to safely belay your partner. If you have your own equipment (rock shoes, harness, helmet) then you are welcome to use them. There will be a goody bag included with each course.
