Friends of the Peak District is offering a superb set of walks in and around Edale on Saturday 25 April, to raise money for the charity. There’s a full 20 mile challenge, plus shorter but equally beautiful 14, 9 and 4 mile routes.
The Edale Skyline is one of the most fantastic routes in the Peak District - a stunning 20 miles around the ridge that surrounds the beautiful Edale valley. It’s straight forward in terms of terrain as the route is mostly on clearly marked paths and trails, but it’s still a challenge! Volunteer marshalls and first aiders will be on hand – offering moral support and refreshments.
Simon Groom, the Friends’ vice-president, will be at the start line, cheering walkers on their way. “I’d love to complete the walk myself; it really is a magnificent route. I’m happy to support the Friends of the Peak District which is only a small charity but they do great work to protect our beautiful countryside in and around the national park”.
All the walks start at Hope Valley College and finish at the Old Hall Hotel in Hope.
