The International Commission for Alpine Rescue will hold its annual congress in Killarney on 13-17 October 2015.
The five-day event will take place in the Killarney Convention Centre, adjacent to the presiding peak of Carrauntoohil. The core themes for this year's congress will be 'Decision Making' and 'Human Factors'.
The meeting will follow the successful format of previous ICAR meetings with a full programme of plenary and poster sessions covering all the main aspects of mountain rescue, and will be of interest to all those involved in mountain rescue and providing casualty care in remote environments.
Mountain Rescue Ireland will host the 2015 Congress, which aims to advance global remote rescue response, and the event will also recognise 50 years of voluntary mountain rescue in Ireland.
