The second annual Guernsey Climbing Festival will be held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from 27 to 31 August 2015.

The festival is organised by Guernsey Mountaineering Club, and it’s designed to be a low-key event, whose primary aim is invite people to come over to the island, enjoy a day's climbing on good rock and have a swim in the sea before sharing experiences and stories round the fire or in the pub afterwards, and going home sunburnt and happy.

The festival base is a farmer’s field about 10-minutes’ walk from the main crags; camping is free. There's a small hotel down the road which does good value bar meals, restaurant food, B&B and has two bars.

Climbing-wise, everything is sea cliff trad on gneiss & granite, mostly single pitch up to 90 feet, but there are longer pitches and multi-pitches too, as well as plenty of bouldering and some DWS. Friction is usually excellent to aggressive, polish is non-existent. Rock quality varies as you'd expect on sea cliffs. Grades go up to E7 & V9 with a couple of harder projects. There are about 1,400 or so routes to go at. Walk-ins are normally in the region of 10 minutes or less from the nearest car park. Martin Crocker liked it so much he kept coming back for holidays and put up a hundred routes.
