Join Andy Cave, Rosie Swale-Pope MBE, Richard Parks, Adele Pennington, Ian Parnell and Alan Hinkes OBE at ‘A Mountain to Climb’, at Sheffield Students’ Union Auditorium on Thursday 8 October.

Six months on from the devastating earthquake, the Himalayan communities in Nepal still need our help to re-build. Sheffield-based charities, PHASE Worldwide and Sherpa Aid UK, have teamed up to present an evening with world-renowned mountaineers and adventurers.

Al Hinkes OBE, the only Briton to have climbed all fourteen 8000m peaks, will compère the evening, which will take place at Sheffield Students’ Union Auditorium, starting at 7.00pm. Speakers will include world-renowned mountaineer and award-wining author, Andy Cave; Global Adventurer and author of ‘Just a Little Run Around the World’, Rosie Swale Pope; high-altitude mountaineer Adele Pennington; mountaineer and first ascensionist of the SE Ridge of Annapurna III, Ian Parnell; and extreme environment athlete and author of ‘Beyond the Horizon’, Richard Parks. Dr Parun Sekhri from the charity, PHASE Worldwide, will also give an overview of the charity’s current work in Nepal.

Tickets cost £20 and are available from the Jagged Globe shop or over the phone on 0114 276 3322 (Mon-Fri 9-5.30pm), with all proceeds going to charities Sherpa Aid UK and PHASE Worldwide.
