The BMC Midlands Area Meeting will be held at the Old Edwardians Sports Club in Solihull on Wednesday 27 January 2016, starting at 8.00 pm.

Come along to our next gathering of Midlands climbers and walkers.  The evening includes a discussion of local and national issues, a film, a bar and food, so it should be a good night out.

The area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in the Midlands as well as the rest of the country.

Terry Abraham film & Carey Davies talk
Unfortunately guest speaker Terry Abraham can no longer make it in person, but we will still feature a video interview with him and exclusive clips from his upcoming epic capturing the moods and magic of ‘the people’s mountain’, Blencathra

Terry’s video clips will follow a presentation by BMC hill walking officer Carey Davies. Formerly the deputy editor of The Great Outdoors magazine, Carey has walked in mountain areas all over the world, from North Wales to New Zealand, from the West Highlands to the West Bank of Palestine. He is a contributor to the Guardian’s Country Diary, and is (slowly) writing his first book.

A passionate believer in open access and wildlife conservation, Carey's talk will feature his photographs, thoughts and experiences and reveal how he is using them to bolster the BMC as the organisation which celebrates and fights for all lovers of the mountains.

All are welcome; entry is free. Food will be provided, and the club has a licensed bar.

Thanks to Solihull Mountaineering Club for hosting the meeting.
