The BMC London & South East Area Meeting will take place at The Devereux pub in the Temple area of central London on Wednesday 3 February, starting at 7.00pm.
Come along to our next gathering of climbers and walkers in the London and South East area. The evening includes a discussion of local and national issues, a talk and film, a bar and food, so it should be a great night out.
The area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in the area as well as the rest of the country.
Shirin Shabestari talk & film
Growing up Iran, childhood trips to the mountains with her father gave Shirin a taste for adventure and a sense of freedom. Now living in London with a young family, Shirin shares her love for the mountains and culture of Iran through Persian Pursuits, running expeditions to Damavand, Iran’s highest peak. The talk will include a screening of Damavand – an Iranian Dream, which follows a ski-mountaineering team from the UK, led by Shirin, and examines the pivotal role mountaineering played in her upbringing.
