Celebrate the 200th anniversary of Charlotte Brontë’s birth with a visit to North Lees Hall, thought to be the inspiration for Thornfield Hall in Charlotte’s classic novel Jane Eyre.
North Lees Hall lies at the heart of Stanage-North Lees. Dating from the 1590s the three principal rooms all have Elizabethan features and are linked by a spiral elm staircase. The roof terrace has stunning panoramic views over the Hope Valley.
Refreshments and children’s activities will be available during the weekend; donations to Stanage-North Lees. The hall will be open on from 11am until 3pm on both Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April.
