A two-day event providing free instruction and workshops to children and young adults of all climbing abilities, taking place in the Borrowdale and Buttermere valleys on 15 & 16 August.
With the objective of inspiring a new generation of climbing potential, this new festival is set to have something for every young budding climber.
Across the festival there will be multiple workshops and experiences to sign up to; from ‘Intro to Trad’ and a ‘Bouldering Masterclass’ to guided rock climbing experiences. The entire offering is being laid on by the organisers free of charge, so it really is an opportunity not to be missed, whatever your climbing ability or aspirations.

On Monday night, Lakes climbing expert James McHaffie will be doing a free talk, ‘The Lakes & Beyond’ from 7.00pm at the Climbers’ Club hut in Grange.
The Lakeland Youth Climbing Festival is a collaboration between activity companies Lakeland Mountain Guides, Epic Outdoors, Eden Rock Bouldering Centre, and is also supported by the BMC.
