Monday 1 August 2016 is the historic day on which new areas will officially become part of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks.
The Friends of the Lake District invite you to come and celebrate by seeing in the new dawn over one of the new areas of the Lake District National Park, on Scout Scar, near Kendal.
Breakfast butties will be provided for anyone wishing to join the dawn celebrations – around 5.30am on Monday 1 August. Meet at the Mushroom Shelter on Scout Scar from 4.30. Car park on Underbarrow Road at grid ref. SD 488924.
This is a free event but you are requested to pre-register attendance so that catering can be arranged.
