The BMC Yorkshire Area Meeting & Area AGM will be held in the Garden Room at The Wheatley Arms in Ben Rhydding on Monday 28 November 2016, starting at 7.00pm.
Come along to our regular gathering of Yorkshire climbers and walkers, to discuss the latest issues and get involved in the work of the BMC. The evening includes a discussion of local and national issues, a guest speaker, and a bar and food, so it should be a good night out.
It’s also the area AGM, so elections will be taking place for various area officer and representative roles.
BMC area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in your area as well as the rest of the country.
Emma Flaherty talk
BMC Vice President Emma Flaherty and Equity & Partnerships Officer Jo Rowbottom will talk about the BMC’s work for women and young people, including the Women's Development Group, which was formed in December 2015 and will run for two years as a pilot to see what can be done to engage more women in the BMC and encourage participation in all aspects of the outdoors and mountaineering, including leadership roles.
Cotswold Outdoor will have a display of equipment and clothing at the meeting.
All are welcome; food will be provided by the BMC.
The venue is very convenient for the local railway station on the Leeds to Ilkley line.
