Join a charity night walk up Helvellyn and Striding Edge in aid of mountain rescue on Saturday 5 November 2016.
All profits from the event will go directly to the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association (LDSAMRA), which is the umbrella body for mountain rescue teams in Cumbria. www.ldsamra.org.uk
The Route: Ascending to Striding Edge on good paths alongside Mires Beck and over the slopes of Birkhouse Moor. After enjoying a headtorch traverse of Striding Edge, walkers will summit Helvellyn. Descent will be via Swirral Edge and Greenside Mine.
Cost: The cost to participate in this event is £50.
Event Safety: The group will be accompanied by 1 guide to every 8 participants.
Suitability for this Event: Participants should have experience either on Striding Edge, or similar scrambling terrain simply because taking this on at night is a slightly tougher affair in terms of a management point for view. If you are in doubt, contact the organisers
