The BMC Peak Area Meeting will take place at The Maynard in Grindleford on Wednesday 31 January 2018, starting at 7.30pm (food available from 6.30pm).
Come along to Grindleford for our next gathering of Peak District climbers and walkers and get involved in the BMC.
Area meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally.
BMC Organisational Review
Discussions will continue on the recommendations of the independent organisational review group (ORG) following consideration of feedback provided by members since the group’s report was published in November. A briefing paper (attached) has been published by the ORG for discussion at the January / February round of area meetings.

BMC representation on Mountain Training England
Mountain Training England (MTE) is proposing that the BMC reduces its number of voting members from four to one on MTE’s Council, achieving voting parity with MTE’s other member organisations. This proposal was postponed from the November area meeting due to a lack of time for discussion. Background information on this proposal
Guest speaker for the evening is BMC ambassador James ‘Caff’ McHaffie
Caff will no doubt simultaneously entertain and terrify the audience with tales of ascents of some of the hardest climbs around. Read: Caff’s Blog
