Come and help improve access and conserve some rare plant and tree species by joining a BMC-organised clean-up in Bristol's Avon Gorge on Sunday 18 February from 10am.
Every year hardy volunteers venture out on a cold February day to clear invasive vegetation from the Avon Gorge Main Area. If we let nature take its course, not only would it become very hard to access some of the Gorge’s wonderful routes, but also some rare plant and tree species would be squeezed out altogether.
So under the guidance of top botanist Libby Houston, we will clear away invasive plants such as brambles and ivy.
It's great fun, and …it’s a WIN-WIN for Conservation and Climbing!
Refreshments and some tools will be provided.
BRING: Stout gloves, sturdy footwear, robust trousers (and some secateurs if you have them).
All are welcome.
