Come and join us for an 11-mile walk along the White Cliffs of Dover on Sunday 13 May 2018.
This walk is great opportunity to get out in the local countryside and meet with other BMC members whilst enjoying a fine hill walk.
Start Point: Deal rail station (TR 374 525)

Distance: 11 miles
Total Ascent: 1,500 feet
Meet at 11:00 for a linear walk from Deal to Dover following the Saxon Shore Way which in 2020 will be part of the longest managed and waymarked coastal path in the world at 2,795 miles when it is incorporated into the English Coast Path. For three miles the route is flat as it follows the English Channel before rising onto the undulating White Cliffs. The route remains at a high level until reaching Dover only falling to sea level briefly for lunch at St Margaret’s Bay. Expect castles, a lighthouse, a bird’s eye view of one of the world busiest ports and guaranteed sea views!
