The Sandstone Open Meeting will take place in the bar at the Bowles Outdoor Centre, Eridge Green on Sunday 7 October 2018, starting at 6.30pm.
This is your opportunity to have your say and join in the discussion about Southern Sandstone related issues, including the proposed installation of a bridge to access Isolated Buttress at Harrison’s Rocks.
The format for this meeting is two separate 1-hour meetings:
Sandstone Open Meeting
Ten minutes of reports on sandstone issues followed by discussion on Sandstone Volunteers Group work planned for the winter months; other topics at the chair’s discretion.
Meeting with members of the BMC’s Land Management Group (LMG)
Since the Harrison’s Rocks Management Group recommendation to install a bridge to access the Isolated Buttress, concerns have been raised by a number of individuals. Having regard to potential legal implications, LMG members consider it necessary that they inspect the site and hear directly from climbers at this meeting.
Please read the LMG statement issued in April 2018: Harrison’s Rock: Isolated Buttress update
Background Information: Isolated Buttress: arguments for and against building a bridge
All are welcome, and a buffet will be provided by the BMC.
