The BMC Peak Area Meeting will take place at The Maynard in Grindleford on Wednesday 23 January 2019, starting at 7.30pm (food from 6.30pm).
Come to our next gathering of Peak District climbers and walkers and get involved in the BMC.
Area meetings are run by volunteers and provide an opportunity for you to discuss issues and influence decisions affecting climbers and walkers locally and nationally, and to meet like-minded people and enjoy a sociable night out.
Organisational Development Group update – January 2019
After meeting guest speaker: Carey Davies
Carey is the BMC’s hill walking officer, a role which, among many other things, has seen him lead the Mend Our Mountains campaign. But he is also known beyond the BMC for his writing and journalism. A monthly contributor to The Guardian’s Country Diary column and a regular writer for The Great Outdoors magazine,te. he has walked with a rambling club in Palestine, backpacked across California’s High Sierra and, most impressively of all, survived the midges of Knoydart. His talk will touch on themes which shape his writing: freedom of movement, rewilding, and how our relationship to landscape shapes our identity.
All are welcome; food will be provided by the BMC, available from 6.30pm.
