Who can go? The Alpine Lectures are brilliant for anybody new to alpine climbing who want to further develop their skills. You’ll go from bumbling about to striding with confidence to the summit after you’ve gained all the knowledge from our alpine experts Tim Livingstone and Steve Long.

Tom Livingstone

Tom is a climber and writer based in North Wales. He’s established new rock and alpine routes in the UK, Alaska and Himalayas. Tom's part of a new wave of ambitious alpinists who are pushing standards, and he’s also developed a group which encourages young climbers to greater heights in the mountains.

Steve Long

International Mountain Guide Steve has been mountaineering for over 30 years and has climbed in every continent and skied in most. Highlight ascents include the Dru in winter, Cerro Torre, Low’s Gully (Borneo), and an epic attempt on Great Trango.

So what skills will you learn about?

Everything the new alpine adventurer could possibly need, including:

> Basics of alpinism

> Equipment needed

> Climate change considerations

> Acclimatisation

> Fitness Preparation

> Alpine Areas

> Effective movement/glacial travel

> Alpine Hazards

> Risk Management
