If you want to discuss proposed changes to BMC governance structures, take part in our online seminar on Thursday 2 April 2020, starting at 6.30pm.
Over the past few months, various volunteer working groups have been meeting and looking into a number of governance issues within the BMC.
The purpose of the webinar is for two of these groups to present their conclusions and allow you as members to ask questions about the proposed changes to various governance structures of the BMC.
The two groups, which form part of the Organisational Development Group's (ODG) Work Stream 5 (Governance) are:
National Council reconstitution: formed at the end of 2018 to work on the Organisational Review Group's recommendation 33, that “National Council should be restructured and become the Members’ Assembly and its role defined”. New terms of reference are being prepared for what will be called the Members’ Council.
Articles of Association: formed at the end of 2019, its remit is to amend the articles of association to take into account the new Members’ Council and any other items that have come to light as part of the work of the ODG.
