This peer-led walk is offered to BMC members, their friends and family as well as anyone interested in the work of the BMC on Monday 20 November, 2023, meeting at Fairholmes Visitor Centre by the refreshment kiosk for a prompt start at 9.30am.

The walk

Will be led by BMC Member, BMC National Hill Walking Group member and Mountain Leader, Bev England. Distance, approximately 9 miles  (14km) with 1500ft (500m) of ascent. This is a walk of moderate difficulty, walking high above the Derwent Valley reservoirs with amazing views across to Kinder and Howden Moors. The walk takes to one of the biggest landslips in the UK. An impressive site, with a Grade 1 scramble up the castle if you wish. A super day out with a feeling of remoteness on a beautiful moorland with wild grouse and wildlife at your feet.
