Join us in London for the first in our 2024 monthly walk series - Peak bagging London & the South East!
Throughout 2024 we’ll be exploring the hills on our doorsteps, finding local adventures, and getting inspired by the landscapes around us. Whilst we might be lacking soaring peaks, the South East is packed with rolling hills, steep climbs and sweeping views. From Hampstead Heath through to the Chilterns, the Norfolk Coast down to the South Downs National Park, along the North Downs Way and over the Surrey Hills, every month we’ll be ticking off the highest point in a different county of the London & South East Area.
We’ll be kicking off in January with the highest point of Inner London, the Flagstaff on Hampstead Heath. The route follows the Capital Ring from Hackney Wick up the River Lee to Walthamstow Marshes, across to Abney Park Cemetery and into Clissold Park, around Woodberry Wetlands through to Finsbury Park, finally dropping from Highgate into Hampstead Heath, and our destination of the 134m high peak.
