This is a meeting to discuss the bolt policy for Gower. --Notes from this meeting available in documents section --
Notes from the meeting now available in documents section
At previous South Wales meetings, a number of climbers in the room said that as they were relatively new to the area, and had no involvement with the old policy, they would like to contribute to it in the light of new developments and changing attitudes. More people sport climbing, environmental considerations and changing attitudes to fixed gear on trad routes (e.g. pegs) all have an impact on the Gower. It was felt that there was no need to rewrite the entire policy, but that it certainly needed tweaking and refining.
As such, suggestions and comments have been added to a thread which can be found here;
The details in the above will be pulled together and form a structure to the meeting. If you have any suggestions to add to the wiki please do so by 1st July to allow me to pull a final document together. Which will give a few weeks for people to visit sites if need be, and come to the meeting informed an prepared. Meeting will be chaired by BMC Cymru chairman, Tom Hutton.
The venue for the meeting will be the
North Gower Hotel,
Llanrhidian, North Gower, Swansea SA3 1EE
Kick off at 7.30 sharp, Saturday 23rd July.
Small buffet will be provided for.
Many thanks
