The first BMC London and SE Area meeting of 2012 is coming up! It will take place on Wednesday February 8th at the Alpine Club’s HQ, at 7.30pm.
The format will be a variation on the usual: there’ll be an update on the latest activities at the BMC, and an opportunity for discussion about local and national issues; afterwards there will be a presentation by a speaker: Nick Colton, alpinist and BMC deputy CEO.

For our first meeting in the Alpine Club’s HQ, Nick Colton (BMC Deputy CEO and alpinist of note) will be our speaker, giving us a tour of his alpine heyday in the 70s. Nick has been climbing since he was 10, and is probably best known for the Colton/MacIntyre route on the Grandes Jorasses, or in America, for the Colton/Leach route on Mount Huntington.
The BMC’s area meetings are the main way that you as a BMC member stay in touch with what the BMC is doing on your behalf, and how you have your say about it. If you have something that you want to bring up at the meeting, or simply want to find out more, get in touch via the office or this site (find the event organiser name (Christian Lund) below, click through to the profile, then hit "send message").
