BMC North West Area Hill Walk - Forest of Bowland

BMC members are invited to join a walk into the Forest of Bowland on Sunday 12 September 2021.

The walk’s high point will Fair Snape Fell (510m) with great views on a clear day into Lancashire to the south, across Morecambe Bay to the west and Lake District to the north-west. 

Route
From Chipping village (SD 621432) we will ascend Parlick to Fair Snape Fell (591468), then cross the plateau to Saddle Fell where we descend south along the gentle ridge, going through Leagram estate and back to Chipping. 

The walk is around 13km with 450m of ascent, using established paths and tracks, and should take around 4.0 to 4.5 hours, including stops. 

Participants will be asked to wear usual clothing appropriate for a day walking in the hills and bring their own food and drink for a full hill day.
