Come and help improve access by joining a BMC-organised clean-up in Bristol's Avon Gorge on Sunday 27 February 2022, from 10 am until 4.30 pm.
Every year hardy volunteers venture out on a cold February day to clear vegetation that is impeding access to the climbs. If we let nature take its course, not only would it become very hard to access some of the Gorge’s wonderful routes, but also some rare plant and tree species would be squeezed out altogether.
Under the supervision of botanist Libby Houston, we will clear away invasive plants such as brambles and ivy.
It's great fun, and …it’s a WIN-WIN for Conservation and Climbing!
Refreshments and some tools will be provided.
BRING: Stout gloves, sturdy footwear, robust trousers (and some secateurs if you have them).
MEET: Underneath the Main Wall.
All are welcome.
In the event of weather which would compromise safety, the work will be postponed to the following weekend.
Check the Climb Bristol Facebook for updates.
NOTE: this event was originally scheduled for 20 February, but rescheduled due to unsuitable weather conditions.
