Join the BMC and Mountain Training and Komoot for an adventure walk at Kendal Mountain Festival.
Walk description:
A lovely circular and mainly off-road route, taking in Cunswick Scar and the locally known view point, ‘The Mushroom’… At about 9km, this is a great option for those who’d appreciate a late start on Sunday!
The path rises steadily (though not too steeply) crossing Kendal golf course before a bridge over the bypass. Cunswick Scar and rewarding views are shortly reached via the open fell (dogs must be on lead as livestock usually graze here.) Dipping slightly downhill before rising again, the paths are well trodden and before long, a gate leads to narrower paths and a road junction. A short ascent is rewarded by stunning views across to Morecambe and the Langdales, on Scout Scar. From the ‘Mushroom’, there are various path options before starting a descent which leads back to the town centre
