Driven by a life long passion for climbing and environmental protection I now sit on the Access, Conservation and Environment Group to share my knowledge of sustainability and environmental management to help ensure continued access to our crag and mountain resource.
I have climbed continuously since the early 1970's apart from a few years in the 1980's when hang-gliding and caving pulled me away from climbing for a while.
I have climbed in many countries - my best memory was a rapid and free ascent of the American Direct on the Dru, in 1979.
Recently standards have dropped but I still value getting outdoors into the unique situations of the mountain and coastal cliffs. Even the quarries hold their attraction.
